GRID ARTWORK @ GRANDE HALLE DE LA VILLETTE IN PARIS

For the large-scale immersive exhibition INTO THE LIGHT: THE EXPO at Paris’ Grande Halle de la Villette, KINETIC LIGHTS proudly presents GRID — a monumental kinetic light installation by Christopher Bauder and Robert Henke. As part of a curated selection of 15 luminous artworks by leading European artists, GRID invites visitors into a meditative interplay of motion, light, and sound, where minimalism meets spatial complexity.

The installation is an artistic approach to manifesting computer-generated shapes and surfaces in real space. An abstract array of light lines is directly perceived as a tangible spatial experience. Every sound and every bit of music correlates with a visual impulse and a spatial alteration of the mechatronic display. The music stirs the emotions, while the mechanical movements and changes of light fascinate the eye. The installation speaks to a fundamental fact of modern life: computers and machines have become part of our natural environment.
