For the 70th Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna, KINETIC LIGHTS is proud to contribute a groundbreaking kinetic lighting system for one of the world’s most iconic live television productions. Created by renowned lighting designer Tim Routledge and stage designer Florian Wieder, the spectacular stage concept features 80 Winch XL Double systems with KL Gyro motion stabilizers, dynamically flying 80 Ayrton Rivale moving lights with 1,5m per second above the main stage as a monumental kinetic centerpiece.

Integrated into a production featuring more than 2,100 lighting and laser fixtures, the KINETIC LIGHTS system enables high-speed vertical motion and perfectly synchronized spatial choreography. The installation transforms the Vienna Stadthalle into an immersive kinetic architecture of light, motion, and emotion.

As one of the world’s most iconic live broadcast events, Eurovision 2026 demonstrates how kinetic lighting can move beyond traditional illumination to become a living scenographic element: shaping space, enhancing storytelling, and redefining the audience experience on a global stage.

A key technical innovation of the installation is the use of the KL Gyro motion stabilizer, developed specifically for moving light applications in high-speed kinetic environments. Unlike conventional stabilizing systems that typically compensate only a single axis of movement, the KL Gyro actively stabilizes both Pan and Tilt motion of the moving lights while flying through space. This allows precise beam positioning and smooth lighting effects even during rapid acceleration and complex movement choreography, combining the flexibility of kinetic motion with the accuracy of advanced lighting design.
