For the special concert event “Waltz into Space” at the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) in Vienna, KINETIC LIGHTS was honored to present its MIRROR MIRROR kinetic installation - a stunning tribute to the 200th anniversary of Johann Strauss II. Featuring Winch M systems and Mirror Disc elements, the installation was choreographed in harmony with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra’s live performance of the Blue Danube Waltz, transforming the space into a visually resonant journey through music, light, and time.
As Strauss' iconic waltz was transmitted into deep space for the first time, our kinetic system elevated the experience for guests on Earth, creating waves of reflected light that shimmered like stardust beneath the MAK’s vaulted ceiling. The interplay of motion and reflection celebrated Vienna’s timeless cultural heritage while symbolizing its bold steps into the future. MIRROR MIRROR offered an atmospheric backdrop for this extraordinary moment, when classical music quite literally reached the cosmos.
